Fitz in the Morning: Troop Salute

Anthony Gamboa of the US Marine Corps

It truly is my honor to be able to share your pride and your respect for the people who make this great country possible. Today we are saluting Sergeant Christopher Anthony Gamboa of the United States Marine Corps. Usually I know who sent in the salute, but this one didn’t have a name or a relationship laid out.  What it did have was a ton of pride for this Marine. I did figure out that this salute was sent by Sergeant Gamboa’s wife or girlfriend because while the writer told me about Gamboa’s 12 years of service in the Marine Corps, including 7 deployments, she mentioned that he missed the birth of one of their 3 kids while away. Missing the birth of a child is just one of the sacrifices that service members sometimes have to make for the job. Sergeant Gamboa served in the Corps from 2003 until 2015.  His family is beyond proud of their Hero. She finished with that special Marine Corps motto “Semper Fi, Devil Dog”. You don’t have to write a book to honor your troop. The Troop Salute is here for any of you listening to honor your soldiers, sailors, airmen, guardsman or Marines. Today we salute Sergeant Christopher Anthony Gamboa of the United States Marine Corps.
