Donald Kloepfel of the US Army

So many of us are proud of the service members in our lives. I started doing the Troop Salute years ago because I know that people want the opportunity to share that pride with the world. Today we salute Donald Kloepfel of the United States Army. Donald’s daughter Katherine Kloepfel wrote in on our Facebook page just to thank us for doing the troop salute. She said in her message that she herself was the proud daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, so we asked her if we could salute her dad. Her father Donald served as a medic in the 41st Civil Affairs Company starting in 1966. Donald enlisted before his 18th birthday and was already serving, and actually already in Vietnam when his draft notice arrived at his parent’s home. Katherine says her dad wasn’t the first in the family to serve.  Her Grandfather Robert Kloepfel served in the US Army as a German translator during WWII. Another family with a rich history of service. Today we salute Donald Kloepfel of the United States Army.

We live in the land of the free, because of the brave!
