Garth Brooks was endorsing and showing some love to one of the greatest running backs of all time, Barry Sanders, of the Detroit Lions while playing a show in Motown Saturday night. However, some people on the internet do not know who Barry Sanders is, and thought this was an endorsement for possible Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders. Garth took to Instagram with a photo showing off the jersey before hitting the stage in his cowboy hat, essentially tipping the cap to the football legend taking the stage. https://www.instagram.com/p/B85UsMZgEY8 This was not any sort of political stance whatsoever. It was just a misunderstanding from those who didn’t recognize the football great and seeing where he was playing a show that night. But that didn’t stop the twitterverse from going a little overboard!
Facebook forgot who Barry Sanders is and is freaking out at Garth Brooks for wearing a jersey and I’m dying. pic.twitter.com/wVfAKU7Cn1
