IS LUKE BRYAN RETURNING FOR IDOL SEASON 3?

Luke Bryan is feeling “positive” about his return as a judge on American Idol.  The pop culture giant was recently renewed for a 3rd season on ABC, and although all three judges (including Katy Perry and Lionel Richie) need to renegotiate their contracts to come back next year, Luke is confident that will happen.

“All things feel positive that me and Lionel and Katy will be back. We’re doing the business of the business.”

When American Idol ended its first season on FOX 17 years ago, it had already quickly become a staple of pop culture and music.  Idol gave us superstars Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery and a reason to skip Sunday night football, even when the Seahawks were playing!  For some, the biggest appeal on Idol was the judges; the original trio of Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell.  Other judges have come and gone since then, the likes of Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban.

Luke reportedly made $12 million for his first season as a judge in 2018, and as the 2nd season which comes to a close tonight, he will have made $52 million for his 18 TV appearances.

The finale of the 17th season is set for tonight at 5pm. Hopefully it won’t be the last time Luke Bryan doles out pats on the back! Somebody tell ABC to open up their wallets.
